“It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime.” ~Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason
When dealing with Islam it is extremely important that we are aware of the tactics the cult employs when communicating with our culture and when relating to the Muslims we happen upon in our daily lives. Although Islam advocates truthfulness among Muslims, it does not advocate honesty in dealing with unbelievers. Just the opposite is true, several verses in the Quran and the historical record of Muhommad’s dealings with the unbelievers of his day encourage lying. The Muslims accomplish this through two forms of lying called taqiyya and kitman. The word “taqiyya” literally means “concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is used to disguise Muslim beliefs, ideas, feelings, convictions, opinions and strategies. We see taquiyya used extensively in our media when Muslim interviewees lie, deceive, confound, dissimulate, vex and contend while never providing straight answers to questions and dancing around the truth. The word “kitman” means lying by omission. The Muslims do this a great deal also. Consider the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) insisting that it “has not now or ever been involved with the Muslim Brotherhood, or supported any covert, illegal, or terrorist activity or organization” yet they conveniently failed to mention that their organization was created by the Muslim Brotherhood, that they bankrolled Hamas, and that nine board members of the ISNA have been accused by prosecutors of supporting terrorism. Further, consider the “American” cleric Anwar al-Awlaki who was regularly sought out by the NPR, PBS and government leaders to consult regarding the “peaceful nature of Islam” prior to engineering the Fort Hood massacre and attempting to blow up a Detroit bound airliner. Yet, these are just certain individuals who have corrupted Islam, right? No! This method of deception was common in the tribal culture present in Muhommad’s day, and was both encouraged and practiced by the prophet himself.
Muhammad used deception when he signed a 10 year peace treaty with the Meccans which allowed him access to their city. During the two years that he adhered to the treaty, he used that time to prepare his forces for a takeover. He broke his treaty with the Meccans, and promptly executed many who had trusted him at his word. Many times Muhammad pretended to use peace so that he could take his enemies off guard, such as with Usayr ibn Zarim, who was attempting to gather an armed force against the Muslims. Muhammad sent “emissaries” that pursuaded Usayr ibn Zarim with promises of peace to leave his stronghold. Once exposed and vulnerable Usayr and his thirty companions were massacred by the Muslims. There is also the example of Jadhima which trusted the Muslim’s leader that they would not be harmed if they offered no resistance and converted to Islam. They laid down their arms and the men of the tribe were promptly tied up and beheaded. Muslim’s try to justify Muhammad’s murder of everyone that criticized him by saying that his victims broke treaties with their actions yet they say nothing of the countless treaties broke by Muslim’s. Their actions historical and in today’s world demonstrate that Muslim’s cannot be trusted. Leaders in the Muslim world routinely say one thing to English-speaking audiences and then say something entirely different to their own people in Arabic.
Muslims maintain that Islam teaches honesty yet their is an almost complete absence of verses in the Quran and the Hadith that encourage truthfulness. First, lets look at what the Quran says:
- Quran 3:28 – This verse tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to “guard themselves.”
- Quran 9:3 – “…Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters…” The dissolution of oaths with the pagans who remained at Mecca following its capture. They did nothing wrong, but were evicted anyway.
- Quran 40:28 – A man is introduced as a believer, but one who must “hide his faith” among those who are not believers.
- Quran2:225 – “Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts” the context of this remark is marriage, which explains why Sharia law allows spouses to lie to each other for the greater good.
- Quran 66:2 – “Allah has already ordained for you, (oh men), the dissolution of your oaths.”
- Quran 3:54 – “And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.” The Arabic word used here for scheme is makara, which literally means deceit. If Allah is deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same.
Taken together, these verses stipulate that there are circumstances when a Muslim is not only allowed to lie, but are encouraged to do so if it serves to accomplish a greater purpose. If the Muslim god Allah is deceitful, how much so is it acceptable for his followers to also be deceitful?
Further, Islam sanctions lying in the Hadith (books from the 8th and 9th centuries referred to by Islamic scholars in matters of Islamic law and history).
Bukhari 52:269 – “The Prophet said,’War is deceit.'” The context of this is thought to be the murder of Usayr ibn Zarim and his thirty unarmed men after he “guaranteed” them safe passage.
Bukhari 49:857 – “He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things is not a liar.” Lying is permitted when the end justifies the means.
Bukhari 84:64-65 – Speaking from a position of power at teh time, Ali confirms that lying is permissible in order to deceive an “enemy.”
Muslim 32:6303 – “…he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them).”
- Bukhari 50:369 – Recounts the murder of the poet, Ka’b bin al-Ashraf, at Muhammad’s insistance. The men who volunteered for the assasination used lies to gain his trust, pretending that they had turned against Muhammad. They slaughtered him when he came out of his fortress.
Finally, in Islamic law “Reliance of the Traveler (p. 746-8.2) – “Speaking is a means to achieve objectives. If a praiseworthy aim is attainable through both telling the truth and lying, it is unlawful to accomplish through lying because there is no need for it. When it is possible to achieve such an aim by lying but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if attaining the goal is permissible, and obligatory to lie if the goal is obligatory…it is religiously precautionary in all cases to employ words that give a misleading impression…”. In other words, “One should compare the bad consequences entailed by lying to those entailed by telling the truth, and if the consequences of telling the truth are more damaging, one is entitled to lie.
All this by a “religion” labelled as “One of the great religions of the world?” In Islam you have a deceitful, lying deity, an oath breaking liar for a prophet, a holy book that condones lying and deceit, and a system of laws that condone lying. It is no wonder that western people are baffled by the doublespeak employed by Islamists as they use every imaginable method to avoid plainly speaking the truth about their goals, beliefs, and views regarding human rights. The religious writings of the Muslims tell us plainly that we cannot trust them, the actions of the Muslims tell us that we cannot trust them, and the history of the Muslims tell us that we cannot trust them. All of this is not to say that there are some Muslim individuals who are in fact trustworthy, but they are trustworthy in spite of Islam not because of it.
